The route
- Visbrug: start at the statue of Johan and Cornelis de Witt, with the Grote Kerk already in sight.
- Grote Kerk: walk to the church with the stubby tower. Is the tower open? Then the climb is well worth it.
- Nieuwe Haven and Huis Van Gijn: one of the prettiest canals in Dordt, with the Huis Van Gijn museum.
- Wolwevershaven: historic ships along the quay, the heart of old harbour life.
- Kuipershaven: follow the quay past the old warehouses towards the river.
- Groothoofdspoort: at the tip of the city, where the rivers meet. Time for a drink on a terrace?
- Wijnstraat: walk back past the crooked facades and browse the antique and art shops.
- Het Hof: the peaceful courtyard where Dutch history was made in 1572.
- Voorstraat: stroll past shops and cafés back to the Visbrug.
